Body Bag Battle at Carrida: Hopeful in the attempts to snatch the center planet of the Emperor's Hammer territory, Warlord Cregan ordered his massive task force to enter the borders of Carrida. Realizing what the Kriegsmarine forces consisted of, Warlord Cregan decided to initiate a potentially massive battle the wargame would see. With nearly 2 ISDs, 2 ESCs, 6 M/FRGs, a L/FRG and numerous fighter squadrons, Grossadmiral Ninj von Manteuffel was confident and ready to take on Warlord Cregan's force of 2 ISDs, 2 VSDs, 2 INTs, a FRG, and a plethora of fighter squadrons. "Engage wave one," was the order of Advisor Jon Doyle to the Aurigan Fleets forces. With VSD Maelstrom, INT Seika and 5 squadrons ready to attack, von Manteuffel ordered his M/FRG Scheer and 6 squadrons to defend Carrida. Within minutes the M/FRG Scheer fell to Aurigan laser fire, but it did not end there. With a squad of T/A and GUNs in the Kriegmarine attack, they turned the tide in destroying all Aurigan fighters. The VSD Maelstrom and INT were now up against 5 squadrons of fighters, but they were fortunate to eliminate the nonshielded craft. All that remained at this point were the Aurigan's VSD and INT against one lone T/A. However, the T/A was under human control. Slowly the two capital ships were destroyed by the lone Kriegsmarine fighter. Wave one had ended. With two capital ships destroyed and 5 squadrons gone, Warlord Cregan had mixed feelings about this battle at Carrida. von Manteuffel had lost his share of fighters and a capital ships but felt confident that his remaining forces would defend Carrida absolutely. So what was on Warlord Cregan's mind now? He had two options from this point. Continue the pressure or retreat and come to fight another day. Cregan chose the latter but had to pay a price by sending nearly 25% of his forces to cover his retreat. Sending 7 squadrons to defend the rear, Cregan was quickly attacked by the ISD-II Tirpitz herself along with her compliment of fighters. Going up against a squad of T/A, a GUN, and T/Is, Cregan's stock TIE fighters were immediately decimated with out little hope of survival. Aurigan Fleet claimed the lives of two Kriegsmarine T/A pilots during the ordeal. With Carrida behind the Aurigan Fleet, the Kriegsmarine Fleet has claimed a defensive victory. But will Warlord Cregan let this go? Will he come back with a more powerful fleet or will he choose another target to attack? And what is The Legion of Prefect doing during the aftermath of this battle? What plans does he have up his sleeve. It is still early in the game. There is no telling what these three fleets will do next...
